NMAT 2023

Last date to Apply: Oct 10, 2023

Good Colleges under NMAT:

NMIMS Mumbai  MBA (Core) Main programme

Choose NMAT exam date atleast 10 days before CAT or after CAT. Test Fees INR 2800+ per test!!

IMPORTNAT NMAT Q and A:

Q.1) When should we fill NMAT?

Answer: Fill it by October mid. Take a date in November or December.

Q.2) Which are the good colleges under NMAT?

Answer: Only NMIMS Mumbai is a top 15 college, the rest are below rank 50.

Q.3) Then which 5 free colleges should we fill?

Answer: We don’t recommend these but if you want, you can fill SDA Bocconi, TAPMI, XIM Bhubhaneshwar or KJ Somaiya apart from NM Mumbai.

Q.4) Do we need to apply separately to NMIMS Mumbai? Or NMAT Application includes NM Mumbai application?

Answer:  NMIMS Mumbai application process is separate. You will have to pay additional money for that. Private College.

Q.5) Are NM Bangalore and Hyderabad as good as NM Mumbai?

Answer: No they are not. They are below rank 50. NM Mumbai is a top 15 college. Rest are low rung and also expensive.

Q.6) What is difference between MBA and PGDM in NMAT form?

Answer: MBA is offered by NM Mumbai. PGDM by other campuses.

Q.7) Advantage of NMAT is that we can write it 3 times! It is a wonderful thing.

Answer: NM Mumbai only accepts first attempt. So effectively you only have 1 attempt. Don’t waste your money.

Q.8) Should we write NMAT at centre or opt for from home option?

Answer: If your house has following features take it from home; a) Dedicated room for taking test where no one will disturb; b) Proper Reliable broadband connection; c) Proper 24/7 power back up. If your home does not have these, then write from test centre.

Q.9) Is NM Mumbai a top college or not?

Answer: NM Mumbai is a top 15 college. It is quite expensive but placement outcomes are comparable to MDI and slightly above New IIMs and slightly below old IIMs. So it is an excellent choice

Q.10) Out of NMAT and SNAP which one should we fill?

Answer: Ideally fill both. If you can afford only 1 then fill SNAP. There are 4 good colleges in SNAP ( SIBM Pune, SIBM Bangalore. SIIB Pune and SCMHRD Pune) as opposed to NMAT which has only 1 good college NM Mumbai.

Q11) Does NMAT have negative marking?

Answer: Just like GMAT NMAT is adaptive. There is no penalty for wrong questions. Paper gets harder or easier with each question depending on if you got it right or wrong. I.e. if you get the first question right then second question is harder; if you get the first question wrong then second question is easier and so on. The more hard questions you get right the higher the score.

Q.12) Some test taking strategies for NMAT?

Answer: Do not leave paper incomplete. There is a penalty for that in GMAT. Also getting first few questions right unlocks difficult questions which leads to higher score. If you get first few wrong then higher level questions aren’t unlocked leading to lower score.

About NMAT

The NMAT by GMAC™ exam is comprised of three sections1) Language Skills, 2) Quantitative Skills, and 3) Logical Reasoning.

The exam sections are individually timed and candidates must answer the questions in each section within the allotted time. Questions are delivered one at a time and are randomly selected from a pool of questions.

The number of questions, difficulty levels, and time limit for each of the sections is predetermined and, under normal administration conditions, are the same regardless of when and where the test is administered.

Candidates can choose the order/sequence of the test sections at the beginning of the exam.

NMAT is adaptive. There is NO NEGATIVE marking.
